Harvest 2017 is done & dusted 😀
After eight huge weeks this years harvest has finally wrapped up. After numerous rainfall events dumping 50 mm of rain the remainder of the wheat crop was still making high quality bread wheat. With more rain forecast we were fortunate to have some neighbours come in & give us a hand to get the last of the crop off in good time. With six machines running we’ve had a busy few weeks in the paddocks & silos. After a challenging season the inland crops yielded slightly better than we first thought, which certainly lifted the average to a much better result than we had expected. Thanks to the Oster boys & the crew from Wheare farming for helping out with the extra harvesting capacity. Thanks also to the Davies crew from Maitland freight for coming in with a fleet of trucks to help shift the grain to port.
I am eternally grateful for the commitment of our staff members who put in a huge effort to get harvest done.
Unfortunately there is another weather system coming through tonight. Our thoughts are with those still harvesting. I hope the crop is still ok & safe reaping for the rest of the season
Merry Christmas to all 👍🏻
